BARUG NewsNovember 2005October's meeting was nominally on the subject of 'spam and how to get rid of it from a RISC OS machine', but this topic took a back seat when Chris Hall brought in his developer's model A9 computer... :-) What a tiny machine this is! Whilst not all the features are working correctly yet, Chris was still able to demonstrate the utility of such a machine. Your correspondent went firmly into "covet" mode. It may not be a full grown laptop, but if a user travels and can have access to a monitor at his destination, this machine is small enough to be easy to carry and capable of full scale RISC OS operation. Good luck to STD who are the developers: I think they have a winner here if they can bring the missng features on line. For more info see http://www.drobe.co.uk/riscos/artifact1198.html The November meeting will be held at the usual time and place on Wednesday 30th November. This month we are again pleased to welcome Paul Middleton, MD of RISCOS Ltd, who will update the position of developments in RISC OS. Paul is in a unique position to enlighten us on the direction of RISC OS for the desktop, so come along and take the opportunity of asking the man himself the burning questions you undoubtedly have! At the November meeting those attending will be asked whether they would prefer the December meeting to be on either the 14th or 21st December for the usual mince pies, coffee and natter evening. Please let the Committee know which date you would prefer. I shall be in London on business on the 30th, so the Vice Chairman will be in charge... :-) Steve |
